Euphoria - Richard Grantham

A funky Euphonium solo which shows a new and street-wise side to one of the Brass Band's more traditional solo instruments. Michael Howley gave the premier with the Yorkshire Co-operatives band in November 2005.

This is a new Trombone solo written for Brett Baker of the Black Dyke Band. Built around the hymn tune Liebster Immanuel from 1679, a fast, lively main theme eventually leads to a plaintive statement of this beautiful melody before an exciting end.
Brett Baker gave the world premier of Star of the East in November 2005. He gave the European premier in Holland in February 2006 and recorded it at the same time with BB de Waldsang under Reiks van De Velde. The solo is published by Lake Music (Netherland)
